AAAWE’s main activities include organizing mentoring/technical workshops to assist African Women economists to overcome some of the challenges they face in their professional lives, such balancing work and family, producing high quality research, etc. AAAWE has organized two major workshops since its beginning in March 2011. Both workshops were pre-conference events at the African Econometric Society (AES) conferences. The first workshop was held in Uganda in July 2012 and the second workshop was in Ghana in July 2013.
